Inside a Turbo Air: ownership, design and service
Turbo Air is a Korean-founded commercial refrigeration maker with its US operation in Southern California. It makes reach-in refrigerators and freezers, prep tables and display merchandisers, many with a self-cleaning condenser that brushes dust off the coil. Turbo Air expanded from Korea into the US commercial refrigeration market and built its reputation on the self-cleaning condenser. Turbo Air sells reach-ins, undercounter units, prep tables and glass-door merchandisers to restaurants, cafés and convenience stores. It competes on features such as its self-cleaning condenser at mid-market prices.
The features that matter most for service are self-cleaning condenser with a rotating brush, reach-in and undercounter refrigeration, sandwich and pizza prep tables, and glass-door merchandisers. The self-cleaning condenser reduces coil cleaning but does not eliminate it, especially in greasy kitchens.
