How JennAir builds its appliances
JennAir was founded in Indianapolis in 1947 and became part of Whirlpool when Whirlpool bought Maytag in 2006. It pioneered the downdraft cooktop and now sells built-in refrigeration, wall ovens and pro-style ranges. Founder Louis Jenn built his business on ventilation fans before introducing the downdraft range that made the name known in the 1960s.
