If your Maytag cooktop has stopped doing its job, we can come out to your home in Clairemont, find the fault and fix it on site whenever the part is in hand. In homes of this age the laundry hookups and shutoff valves are often original, which is worth knowing before a repair or a replacement goes in. Nothing is repaired until you've approved a written estimate, and the work is covered by a 90-day parts and 30-day labor warranty.

What Clairemont does to a cooktop
If a gas cooktop ever smells of gas, leave the house and call SDG&E or 911 from outside before anything else. Short of that, a burner that clicks but won't light is usually a dirty or cracked igniter, and an oven that won't heat is often a weak igniter or a failed element.
Problems worth ruling out first on a cooktop in Clairemont:
- Burner Not Working
- Gas Smell
- Gas Burner Not Lighting
- All Gas Burners Not Lighting
- Electric Burner Not Heating
- Induction Burner Not Working
Known weak spots on Maytag cooktops
- Burner not lighting
- Igniter clicking continuously
- Element heating only on high
- Element not heating at all
Gas models use a spark module that fires all the igniters, so constant clicking on one burner points to a switch or a wet electrode rather than the module. Radiant models fail at the element or the infinite switch, which can be tested quickly. Most repairs are simple parts on a cooktop that still fits its counter cutout.
