(619) 984-2545Before you call: cooktop trouble in El Cajon
Santa Ana wind events bring heat waves and the occasional outage to El Cajon, and the surge when power returns is hard on electronic control boards. On a cooktop, most no-heat problems come down to an igniter, a bake or broil element, or a temperature sensor, and we test each before ordering parts.
In mobile homes, appliances are often fitted into tight spaces, so mention the home type when you book and we'll plan for it.

Before you book: quick checks
Make sure the control lock isn't on; on many glass tops it's a key or lock icon held for a few seconds. Check the breaker; cooktops usually have their own double-pole breaker, and one side tripping can leave the display alive while zones won't heat.
For gas: with everything cool, lift each cap, make sure it sits flat, wipe the igniter dry and clear the ports with a pin. Don't spray cleaner into the burner base.
For induction: test with a cast-iron pan; if it works, the problem is your cookware. Look under the cabinet to make sure nothing is blocking the cooling vents.
If you smell gas near a gas cooktop and it doesn't clear within seconds, turn off the knobs, leave and call SDG&E or 911 from outside.
