Avanti is a Florida-based brand of compact and apartment-size appliances, sold widely through home centers and online retailers. Its products are made overseas by contract manufacturers and focus on small kitchens, dorms, offices and bars. Avanti grew as a supplier of compact appliances for small spaces rather than as a full-size kitchen brand. Avanti covers compact refrigerators, apartment-size ranges, small wine and beverage coolers, countertop dishwashers and portable laundry. It is a common pick for apartments, ADUs, dorm rooms, offices and RVs where a full-size appliance will not fit.

Most of the service work traces back to a few design choices: compact and apartment-size refrigerators, 20-inch and 24-inch apartment ranges, thermoelectric and compressor wine coolers, and portable washers and compact dryers. Many small Avanti wine coolers cool with a thermoelectric module rather than a compressor, so they can only hold a set number of degrees below room temperature and struggle in a warm room.

The expensive mistake on Avanti equipment is replacing a board or a sealed-system part on a hunch. We test the circuit under load and rule out the cheap causes first.

Avanti compacts are common in student rentals near UC San Diego, studios and backyard granny flats, where they often sit in tight cabinets or warm garages that push them past their limits.
