Repair Service Shaped Around San Diego Homes
San Diego ProFix Appliance Repair repairs Viking appliances in homes from the coast to East County. We use genuine Viking parts where they're available and tell you up front when a part has to be ordered. We're an independent repair company, not a Viking service center: if your appliance is still under Viking's warranty, contact Viking first. Out of warranty, you get a written estimate before any work starts, and repairs carry a 90-day parts and 30-day labor warranty.

Viking engineering, briefly
Viking Range was founded in Greenwood, Mississippi, and has been owned by Middleby since 2013; its ranges are still built in Greenwood. It popularized the professional-style range for home kitchens and sells refrigeration, dishwashers and ventilation to match. Viking founder Fred Carl Jr. started the company because he could not find a professional-style range suited to a home kitchen. Viking's Professional 7 Series is the heaviest-duty line, the 5 Series covers most of its freestanding ranges, and the Tuscany line offers a more traditional look. Its refrigeration and dishwashers are sold mainly to complete a Viking kitchen rather than as standalone choices.
On the bench, we pay attention to Professional 7 Series and 5 Series ranges, high-output open and sealed gas burners, infrared broilers, and built-in column and bottom-mount refrigeration. Viking ranges use high-output burners and heavy oven doors, so many problems that look like failures are dirty igniters or worn hinges rather than electronics.
Common Viking failure points
Across the Viking line, the recurring problems are spark igniters and spark modules, oven bake igniters (glow bars), oven door hinges under heavy doors, convection fan motors, and refrigerator evaporator fans and ice makers.
For Viking refrigerators, the usual suspects are evaporator fan motors, ice makers, condenser fans, and door closers and hinges. For Viking ovens, the usual suspects are oven bake igniters, gas safety valves, convection fan motors, and door hinges. On Viking freezers, expect defrost heaters, evaporator fans, ice makers, and door gaskets.
Error codes on a Viking point to a circuit, not a part. We read the code, then test the sensor, wiring and load it refers to before ordering anything.
Sourcing Viking parts
Viking parts come through Middleby's residential parts channel; many range parts are available within a week, but older or discontinued models can need longer waits or updated replacement parts. Viking equipment is usually built in, so cabinetry, ventilation openings and panel fit are part of the diagnosis rather than an afterthought.
Viking ranges are usually worth repairing because the cast and steel structure outlasts the parts that fail, while older refrigeration with a sealed-system fault deserves a careful cost comparison. The estimate is written and agreed before we start; parts carry 90 days of coverage and labor 30.
San Diego factors that matter for Viking owners
Viking ranges in La Jolla and Point Loma kitchens near the water can show corrosion on spark electrodes and burner hardware, and salt air speeds that up when kitchen windows stay open. Surges after outages are a real source of Viking board and display failures, and checking for a tripped breaker or a surge-damaged component comes before ordering anything.
In condo towers and Mission Valley or UTC complexes, a leak from a Viking becomes the neighbor's problem fast, so drain lines and supply connections get extra attention there. That is why a Viking diagnosis in Point Loma and one in La Mesa can start from different suspects.
Owner checks for Viking appliances
Wipe Viking burner bases and spark electrodes dry after every boil-over, and do not soak brass or cast parts in harsh oven cleaner. If outages are common where you live, protect the control board with surge suppression rather than replacing boards after the fact. Condo owners should keep the HOA's work-hour rules and elevator booking process handy before scheduling service.
Write down any error code and when it appears; on a Viking that narrows the diagnosis before we arrive.
